TRAI launches revamped ‘MyCall’ app to strengthen consumer feedback on call quality
New Delhi, Aug 3 (TNT): The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Monday launched a revamped version of its ‘TRAI MyCall’ mobile application, enabling telecom subscribers to rate and report their voice-calling experience in real time to help improve network quality.
The regulator said the citizen-centric platform allows consumers to provide instant feedback on voice calls along with relevant network parameters.
The anonymised feedback will be shared with telecom service providers (TSPs) and TRAI to help identify network deficiencies and facilitate corrective measures.
TRAI said the initiative would strengthen evidence-based regulatory oversight by combining consumer feedback with network information to assess the Quality of Experience (QoE) alongside technical Quality of Service (QoS) parameters.
The revamped application features a 1-to-5-star rating system, enables users to report issues such as call drops, echo, audio delay, cross connections, voice break, one-way audio and delayed call connectivity, and provides automatic post-call feedback prompts.
Other features include an interactive map displaying users’ feedback history and a Coverage Test option to assess signal strength.
Launching the application, TRAI Chairman Anil Kumar Lahoti said the platform would encourage greater consumer participation in improving telecom service quality by enabling subscribers to provide immediate feedback on their calling experience.
He said the feedback would help telecom operators identify network shortcomings, improve customer satisfaction and enhance the overall mobile communication experience, while reinforcing TRAI’s consumer-centric and data-driven approach to regulation.
TRAI urged mobile subscribers to download the application and regularly share their feedback to support improvements in telecom services across the country.
