Karimnagar BJP Victory exposes state Intelligence misreading: Bandi Sanjay

Kairmngar, Feb 14 (TNT): Union Minister and BJP Telangana strongman Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Saturday said the BJP’s performance in the Karimnagar Municipal Corporation elections has dealt a political blow to the ruling establishment, exposing the gap between the state government’s intelligence assessments and ground-level public sentiment.

Speaking to the media, Bandi Sanjay claimed that state intelligence had reported to the Chief Minister that the BJP would be restricted to just 13 seats in the corporation.

“The people of Karimnagar have completely rejected that narrative. The verdict proves that the government is living in a political illusion,” he remarked.

Taking a direct swipe at Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy , the BJP leader said it was time the government “opened its eyes” to the changing political mood in Telangana.

According to him, growing public anger over governance failures and lack of accountability is translating into increased support for the BJP, especially in urban centres.

On the mayoral race, Bandi Sanjay alleged that “backroom politics” is underway, with multiple parties attempting to unite only to block the BJP from assuming leadership in the Karimnagar Corporation.

“When it comes to power, political foxes come together. But the BJP is a lion—it contests alone and stands on its own strength,” he asserted.

He said the Karimnagar outcome should be seen as an early political signal ahead of upcoming elections, warning that the ruling party’s dominance is eroding.

“This result is not just about a municipal corporation; it reflects a deeper shift in public confidence and a changing political narrative in Telangana,” he added.
