TTD to Expand Srivari Seva to Grassroots Across AP, Telangana
Tirumala, July 28 (TNT): Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will expand its Srivari Seva programme to the grassroots level across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to promote voluntary service at local temples, TTD Executive Officer M. Ravichandra said on Tuesday.
Addressing the second phase of the Group Supervisors’ Training Programme at Srivari Seva Sadan-2 in Tirumala, the EO said the initiative was being implemented following the directions of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to improve the quality and reach of devotional services.
Noting that Andhra Pradesh and Telangana together have nearly 50,000 temples, Ravichandra urged Group Supervisors and Srivari Sevakulu to identify opportunities for rendering voluntary service at village temples and community shrines.
As part of efforts to improve service standards, TTD is developing a performance-based rating system, on the lines of a credit score mechanism, to assess the work of Srivari Sevakulu and ensure transparent allocation of duties, he said.
The EO said the initiative would enable volunteers to serve not only in Tirumala but also in their native places, thereby strengthening the spirit of seva at the grassroots level.
During the interactive session, Group Supervisors offered suggestions on implementing the village-level expansion of Srivari Seva and proposed measures to further improve pilgrim amenities in Tirumala.
The EO sought practical recommendations for effective implementation of the programme.
Later, Ravichandra felicitated scholars Dr. S.L.N.T. Srinivas and Sri Sharat for successfully conducting the training sessions.
TTD Chief Public Relations Officer Dr. T. Ravi, PRO Kumari Neelima and officials of Srivari Seva Sadan were present.
