SCR GM inspects redevelopment works at Hyderabad (Nampally) Railway Station

Hyderabad, Feb 14 (TNT): South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava on Saturday conducted a detailed inspection of the ongoing redevelopment works at Hyderabad (Nampally) Railway Station.

He was accompanied by Dr. Gopalakrishnan R, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division, along with other senior railway officials.

The inspection focused on the station’s redevelopment under the Amrit station programme, being executed at an estimated cost of ₹327.27 crore.

During the visit, officials briefed the General Manager on the upcoming station plans through a PowerPoint presentation.

Srivastava also reviewed the progress at the work site and directed officials to expedite the execution to ensure timely completion, stressing optimal utilisation of the new infrastructure and improved passenger amenities.

The General Manager instructed divisional officials to implement comprehensive measures to minimise passenger inconvenience during major infrastructural changes. These include effective crowd management, enhanced security arrangements, and strengthened passenger assistance mechanisms throughout the redevelopment phase.

Later, Srivastava inspected the Carriage Maintenance Depot located on the west side of the station.

He reviewed operational procedures and staff facilities, interacted with officials and staff, and enquired about adherence to safety precautions during maintenance activities.
