Kakinada: CPI Demands Rs1 Crore Compensation for NEET Paper Leak Victims
Kakinada, July 27 (TNT): The Communist Party of India (CPI) on Monday demanded that the Centre provide ₹1 crore as compensation to each victim of the alleged NEET paper leak, with party workers staging a dharna in front of Dr B.R. Ambedkar’s statue at Godarigunta in Kakinada.
The protesters raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that the Centre’s education policies had jeopardised the future of students.
Addressing the gathering, CPI State Secretariat member Thitipaka Madhu alleged that a “mafia” had taken control of the country’s education system and demanded the immediate repeal of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the National Education Policy (NEP).
He also sought the withdrawal of cases registered by the Delhi Police against participants in the Jantar Mantar protest.
Following the dharna, the protesters took out a rally from Godarigunta to Dairy Farm Centre, where a public meeting was held.
Speakers at the meeting urged the Centre to withdraw the National Education Policy introduced in 2020, alleging that it was communal in nature, and called for a comprehensive overhaul of the education system.
Among those who addressed the meeting were CPI district secretary K. Bodakonda, district joint secretary Thokala Prasad, district committee member Saka Ramakrishna, and Mahila Samakhya president Padma, who reiterated the demand for reforms in the education sector.
