Tirupati, Feb 14 (TNT) : The auspicious Mahashivaratri celebrations commenced on Saturday at the Seshachala Lingeshwara Swamy Temple, with a series of traditional rituals and religious programmes scheduled over three days.
As part of the opening rituals, Kalasha Sthapana, along with Ganapati, Navagraha, Rudra and Durga Homams, will be performed at 3 pm on Saturday.
On Mahashivaratri day (February 15), Abhishekam will be conducted early in the morning from 4.30 am to 5.30 am for Sri Vigneshwara Swamy, Sri Subramanya Swamy, Sri Anjaneya Swamy and Sri Umamaheswara Swamy.
This will be followed by Ekadasa Rudrabhishekam to Sri Seshachala Lingeshwara Swamy from 5.30 am to 7 am.
In the evening, Abhishekam to Sri Seshachala Lingeshwara Swamy and Sri Nandeeshwara Swamy will be held from 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm.
Harikatha and devotional music programmes will be organised from 7 pm to midnight, adding spiritual fervour to the celebrations.
