Puttaparthi to host grand finale of Sri Sathya Sai Run & Ride on July 26
Puttaparthi, July 25 (TNT): The grand finale of the nationwide “Sri Sathya Sai Run & Ride – A Spirit of Unity”, organised as part of the Birth Centenary Celebrations of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, will be held at the Sri Sathya Sai Hill View Stadium in Puttaparthi on Sunday.
The event, comprising a 5K Run and a 5K Cycle Ride, is aimed at promoting unity, health, harmony, discipline and selfless service. Organisers said the initiative, which has already covered 46 major cities across the country, witnessed enthusiastic participation from youth, women, students, professionals, senior citizens and devotees.
The Puttaparthi event marks the culmination of the nationwide campaign and is expected to draw a large number of participants.
According to the organisers, the programme will begin at 5.30 a.m. with the lighting of the lamp and Vedic chanting, followed by a yoga and drill session.
Nimish Pandya, All India President of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, and R.J. Ratnakar, Managing Trustee of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, will address the gathering before the ceremonial lighting of the Unity Run Torch, symbolising harmony and oneness.
The 5K Cycle Ride for men will commence at 6 a.m., followed by the women’s cycle ride at 6.05 a.m., the men’s 5K run at 6.10 a.m. and the women’s run at 6.15 a.m. The programme will conclude around 7.30 a.m.
Organisers said the initiative seeks to highlight the importance of both physical fitness and inner well-being while encouraging values of brotherhood, discipline and service.
They added that the programme also complements the objectives of the Fit India movement.
Elaborate arrangements have been made for the event under the guidance of Ratnakar and Nimish Pandya.
R. Lakshmana Rao, State President of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Andhra Pradesh, along with senior office-bearers and Sevadal volunteers, is overseeing the arrangements.
A comprehensive medical support system has also been put in place.
An ambulance equipped with essential medicines, glucose and electrolyte packets will be stationed at the venue, while a team of doctors, nurses and a pharmacist will remain on duty throughout the programme to provide immediate medical assistance, ensuring the safety and well-being of participants.
