Telangana launches helpline for Indiramma Towers Housing Scheme
Hyderabad, July 25 (TNT): Telangana Revenue, Housing and Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Saturday launched a dedicated call centre for the Indiramma Towers Housing Scheme to provide official information on eligibility, applications, payments and allotment procedures.
Inaugurating the helpline at the Telangana Housing Board office here, the Minister said the initiative was aimed at eliminating misinformation surrounding the scheme and ensuring that applicants receive authentic information directly from the government.
He appealed to the public not to rely on intermediaries and advised them to contact the helpline (040-24603572) between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Assistance will be available in Telugu, Hindi, English and Urdu.
Srinivasa Reddy said the government plans to construct one lakh houses in phases within the HYDRAA limits. In the first phase, construction has begun on 7,680 flats spread across 16 Assembly constituencies.
He said each Assembly constituency would be treated as a separate unit for implementation and applicants should apply only in the constituency where they have been residing.
Applications can be submitted through MeeSeva centres, the official online portal or WhatsApp.
The Minister said the scheme is intended for economically weaker and lower middle-income families residing within the HYDRAA limits.
Applicants must have an annual family income not exceeding ₹6 lakh and should have lived within the HYDRAA area for at least 10 years.
Only one application per family will be accepted and each eligible family will be allotted only one flat. Neither the applicant nor any family member should own a house, flat or plot within the Outer Ring Road (ORR) or HYDRAA limits, he added.
Applications will undergo digital scrutiny followed by field verification. If the number of eligible applicants exceeds the available flats, allotments will be made through a transparent lottery system.
The Minister said only the Aadhaar number is required while submitting the application and there is no need to upload caste, income or salary certificates at that stage.
Supporting documents will be sought during the verification process.
Applicants are required to pay an earnest money deposit (EMD) of ₹10,000 only through UPI or net banking.If a flat is not allotted, the entire EMD will be refunded to the same bank account from which the payment was made, he said.
He advised applicants to preserve their MeeSeva receipt, payment receipt, application number and registered mobile number until completion of the verification, allotment and refund process.
Each flat under the scheme will have a built-up area of about 525 sq ft comprising one bedroom, a hall and a kitchen. The market value of each flat is estimated at ₹40 lakh to ₹60 lakh.
The government will provide a subsidy of ₹5 lakh for each flat, while the beneficiary’s contribution will be ₹6 lakh. Beneficiaries will also receive registration of an undivided share of approximately 20-25 square yards of land in their name.
Housing Department Special Chief Secretary V.P. Gautham, Housing Board Chief Engineer Ramana Reddy and other senior officials were present.
