VIYONA gets BBPS approval to operate as Customer Operating Unit
Hyderabad, July 24 (TNT): Hyderabad-based fintech infrastructure company VIYONA has received approval from the Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS) to operate as a Customer Operating Unit (COU), enabling it to provide BBPS-enabled bill payment services across multiple categories.
The approval allows the company to offer bill payment services for electricity, water, gas, broadband, mobile recharges, DTH subscriptions, insurance premiums, loan EMIs, educational fees and other approved categories.
In a statement on Friday , the company said the certification would also enable banks, non-banking financial companies (NBFCs), fintech firms, enterprises and government organisations to integrate BBPS services through its platform and offer secure digital payment solutions to customers.
VIYONA Founder and Chief Executive Officer Ravindranath Yarlagadda said the certification would enhance the company’s ability to support banks, fintechs, enterprises and billers with scalable and interoperable bill payment infrastructure.
He said the approval would enable users to access more convenient, reliable and secure digital bill payment services.
With the latest certification, VIYONA now holds National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) certifications for UPI Switch (Issuer and Acquirer), IMPS, Banking Connect, BOU, eKYC Setu and BBPS COU, strengthening its position as a full-stack payments technology provider for banks and financial institutions.
The company said it would continue expanding its payments infrastructure by connecting banks, businesses, merchants and other stakeholders to improve access to digital financial services across the country.
