Sri Soumyanatha Swamy Brahmotsavams begin at Nandalur in Kadapa Dist. with Dhwajarohanam
Tirupati, July 22 (TNT): The annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Soumyanatha Swamy Temple at Nandalur in YSR Kadapa district, commenced on Wednesday with the traditional Dhwajarohanam, marking the beginning of the nine-day religious festivities.
The Garuda flag was ceremonially hoisted on the temple flagstaff amid Vedic chanting, mangala vadyams and Govinda namasmarana by devotees.
An Asthanam was later held in the temple.
Earlier, the processional deities of Sri Soumyanatha Swamy along with Sridevi and Bhudevi, the Dhwaja Patam, Chakrathalwar and Parivara deities were taken in a procession on the golden Tiruchi around the four Mada streets.
Temple Deputy Executive Officer A. Prasanthi, Assistant Executive Officer Ravi, Superintendent Hanumanthaiah, Temple Inspector Dileep, priests, officials, Srivari Sevaks and a large number of devotees participated in the inaugural rituals.
The temple will conduct Vahana Sevas daily at 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. till July 30, while Pushpayagam is scheduled to be held on July 31 at 6 p.m.
The Arjitha Kalyanotsavam will be performed on July 28 at 10 a.m., with devotees able to participate by purchasing a ticket priced at Rs 500.
During the Brahmotsavams, the TTD’s Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad, Annamacharya Project and Dasa Sahitya Project will organise daily devotional music, Harikatha, spiritual discourses and cultural programmes for devotees.
