Telangana CM Revanth calls for removal of Dharmendra Pradhan, urges people to elect Rahul Gandhi as PM
Kodangal, July 22 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday demanded the removal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET paper leak issue and urged people to work towards electing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as the Prime Minister in the future.
Addressing a protest dharna organised in Kodangal against the NEET paper leak, Revanth Reddy alleged that the Centre had failed to take action against those responsible for the irregularities and said the Congress would continue its fight until the Union minister was removed from the Cabinet.
The Chief Minister condemned the alleged police action against Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi during their protest over the issue, stating that suppressing democratic protests was against the constitutional values established by Dr B.R. Ambedkar.
He alleged that paper leaks in BJP-ruled states had severely affected the careers of students and youth.
The Chief Minister extended support to students protesting at Jantar Mantar and said their demand for accountability was above political affiliations.
Revanth Reddy questioned the Centre for not allowing a discussion on paper leaks in Parliament and alleged that instead of addressing students’ concerns, the government resorted to using force against protesters.
He said Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi had staged a protest outside the Prime Minister’s residence in support of affected students and alleged that Rahul Gandhi was injured during the police action.
The Chief Minister said the Gandhi family had a history of sacrifice for the nation, recalling the contributions of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and other members of the family.
Revanth Reddy said Sonia Gandhi, despite leading the Congress party for several years, had declined the post of Prime Minister and did not accept any ministerial position.
He also highlighted her decision to appoint Mallikarjun Kharge as Leader of Opposition instead of taking up the position herself.
Targeting the BJP and BRS, the Chief Minister alleged that a company linked to former minister K.T. Rama Rao, Globarena, was involved in irregularities related to the 2019 Telangana Intermediate examination results.
He claimed that the company later changed its name and secured contracts by coordinating with the BJP leadership in Delhi.
Revanth Reddy said facing police action was not new for the Congress, which had a history of fighting against British rule and leading the country’s freedom movement.
Alleging that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Dharmendra Pradhan had failed the country’s youth, the Chief Minister said the Congress would continue to stand with students and fight against alleged injustices.
He called upon people to unite and defeat the BJP in the future, paving the way for Rahul Gandhi to become Prime Minister.
