Modi congratulates Andy Burnham on becoming UK Prime Minister

New Delhi, July 21 (TNT): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated Andy Burnham on assuming office as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and expressed confidence that bilateral ties would deepen further under his leadership.

In a message posted on X, Modi said India and the United Kingdom were bound by shared democratic values and enjoyed wide-ranging cooperation in trade, investment, technology, defence and people-to-people relations.

Referring to the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), which came into force this month, the Prime Minister said the bilateral partnership was poised to become even stronger.

Modi said he looked forward to working closely with Burnham to further strengthen the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and advance the shared Vision 2035 framework for bilateral cooperation.
