Telangana CM urges youth to pursue sports with passion, felicitates TG20 League champions
Hyderabad, July 16 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday urged young sportspersons to pursue sports with passion and dedication, saying success in any field is possible only with focus and commitment.
The Chief Minister made the remarks while felicitating the TG20 League champions, Hyderabad e-Champions, who called on him here.
He handed over prize cheques to the winning team in the presence of noted badminton coach Pullela Gopichand and Eenadu Group Managing Director Ch. Kiran.
Speaking on the occasion, Revanth Reddy said the state government was committed to reviving Hyderabad’s status as a major sporting hub by promoting sports and hosting national and international events.
He said the government had introduced a dedicated sports policy for Telangana and was extending employment opportunities and cash incentives to athletes who win medals at national and international competitions.
The Chief Minister said the government was strengthening sports infrastructure by establishing a Sports University and upgrading the Gachibowli Stadium to international standards.
Describing the TG20 League as an effective platform for identifying sporting talent from rural areas, Revanth Reddy expressed confidence that the players would go on to bring laurels to the state and the country in future.
