Telangana CM Revanth Reddy greets people on Bonalu festival

Hyderabad, July 16 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday extended Bonalu greetings to the people of Hyderabad and Secunderabad as the Ashada Masam Bonalu festival commenced across the twin cities.

In a message, the Chief Minister said Bonalu reflects Telangana’s rich culture and traditions and symbolises the lifestyle, faith and social unity of the people of Hyderabad.

He described the festival as one of the most significant spiritual and cultural celebrations for residents of the Hyderabad region.

Revanth Reddy said the state government had made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of Bonalu celebrations at more than 3,000 temples across the Greater Hyderabad limits, covering Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts.

He said the government had sanctioned Rs.20 crore for organising this year’s Bonalu festivities.

The Chief Minister said the Bonalu celebrations in the twin cities stand as a shining example of Telangana’s Ganga-Jamuna Tehzeeb and embody the spirit of communal harmony and secularism.
