ZF showcases advanced mobility solutions at Prawaas 5.0 at Gandhinagar

Gandhinagar, July 10 (TNT): Global technology company ZF Group is showcasing its latest Original Equipment (OE) and aftermarket solutions for the commercial vehicle sector at Prawaas 5.0, India’s flagship multimodal transport exhibition, being held at the Helipad Exhibition Centre here from July 9 to 11.

Organised by the Bus and Car Operators Confederation of India (BOCI) under the theme “Towards Safe, Smart & Sustainable Public Transport,” the event has brought together stakeholders from the public transport, mobility, technology and automotive sectors.

In a release, the company said its display focuses on technologies supporting India’s transition towards safer, cleaner and more efficient public transport through innovations in electrification, braking systems, chassis technologies, advanced safety, connectivity and aftermarket services.

Among the key exhibits is AxTrax 2, the company’s integrated electric axle for light- and medium-duty buses, designed for battery-electric, fuel-cell and trolley bus applications.

The system integrates the electric motor, inverter, electronic control unit, actuator and transmission into a compact axle assembly to improve efficiency and support zero-emission mobility.

The company is also displaying its RL82A front axle for low-floor city buses, featuring steering angles of up to 55 degrees, internally ventilated disc brakes and low-maintenance construction to improve manoeuvrability, passenger comfort and safety.

ZF’s modular Door Control Solutions for pneumatic and electric bus doors are also on display, offering features such as clamping protection, emergency door opening and CAN-bus connectivity to enhance passenger safety.

The company’s portfolio further includes Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Braking System (EBS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Electronic Controlled Air Suspension (ECAS), Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), eComp Lite, Bus Connect, bus dampers and V Rod systems.

Speaking on the occasion, Akash Passey, President, ZF Group India, said India’s public transport sector is undergoing rapid transformation driven by urbanisation, sustainability goals and increasing emphasis on road safety and operational efficiency.

He said the company was combining globally proven technologies with local engineering expertise to support customers through integrated solutions that would help build a connected, electrified and software-driven commercial vehicle ecosystem.

Paramjit Singh Chadha, Senior Vice President, ZF CVS India, said intelligent systems integrating safety, electrification, connectivity and vehicle control would shape the future of bus mobility, enabling manufacturers and fleet operators to improve vehicle performance, passenger safety and operational efficiency.

ZF Aftermarket is also exhibiting products including 360-degree camera systems, brake rotors, brake pads, brake linings, power steering pumps, coolants, grease and Golden Cartridges aimed at improving fleet reliability and lifecycle performance.

As part of the event, Chadha will also participate as a lead panellist in a session on “Electrifying School Bus Transport for a Cleaner Future”, sharing perspectives on sustainable school transportation through electrification and advanced technologies.
