ASR Homoeopathic Medical College Principal Dr Pingali Ananda Kumar conferred best Doctor award
Vijayawada, July 1 (TNT): Prof. Dr. Pingali Ananda Kumar, Principal of ASR Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, was on Wednesday conferred the Best Doctor Award – 2026 (Homoeopathy) by Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (Dr. NTR UHS) during the National Doctors’ Day celebrations held here.
The award was presented in the presence of Principal Secretary (Health, Medical & Family Welfare) S. Suresh Kumar, Guest of Honour Justice U. Durga Prasad, Vice-Chancellor Dr. P. Chandra Sekhar, and Registrar Dr. T. Sai Sudheer.
Dr. Pingali was among ten distinguished doctors from various disciplines including allopathy, Ayurveda, Unani, dentistry, and nursing, who were honoured for their contributions to healthcare and medical education.
The award recognises his contributions to homoeopathic medical education, institutional development, and clinical practice.
In his acceptance remarks, Dr. Pingali dedicated the award to his mentors, faculty, students, and patients, stating that the recognition strengthens his commitment to advancing homoeopathic education and research and building ASR institution into a centre of excellence.
The National Doctors’ Day celebrations also marked tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, with the unveiling of his bust on the university campus.
Officials highlighted the evolving role of doctors in modern healthcare, noting that while technologies such as AI are transforming medicine, human empathy and clinical judgement remain central to the profession.
Dr. Pingali Ananda Kumar, who assumed charge as Principal in July 2025, has over two decades of experience in homoeopathic education and clinical practice. Under his leadership, the institution has reported academic achievements, research output, and digital learning initiatives, including student success in university rankings and participation in national-level research programmes.
The college management, faculty, and students congratulated him on the recognition and reaffirmed their commitment to academic and clinical excellence under his leadership.
