AP Govt seeks Makhana Board, PM-PRANAM funds

New Delhi, Feb 10 (TNT): In a meeting with Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday requested the establishment of a Makhana Development Board in Andhra Pradesh.

He said over 50,000 acres in the Kolleru region are suitable for makhana cultivation.

The CM also sought ₹216 crore incentives under the PM-PRANAM scheme for reducing chemical fertiliser usage and ₹200 crore support for coconut cultivation.
