SCR GM Reviews Safety Measures, Stresses Monsoon Preparedness
Hyderabad, June 29 (TNT): South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava on Monday reviewed safety measures across the zone and stressed the need for enhanced preparedness to ensure safe train operations during the ensuing monsoon season.
Chairing a safety review meeting at Rail Nilayam here, the General Manager also presented the “Employee of the Month” Safety Awards to five railway employees in recognition of their alertness and dedication in preventing unsafe conditions.
Principal Heads of Departments and Divisional Railway Managers of Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded divisions participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
The awardees included Loco Pilots, a Pointsman, an Assistant Traction Distribution (Electrical) employee and a Keyman.
Of the five awards, three went to employees from Secunderabad Division and one each to Hyderabad and Nanded divisions.
Srivastava congratulated the awardees and said such recognition would motivate employees to remain vigilant and uphold the highest safety standards in train operations.
During the review, he assessed the functioning of High Energy Absorbing Dead End Buffer Stops at terminal stations and reviewed the progress of tree trimming works to ensure clear visibility of railway signals for train crews.
The General Manager directed officials to expedite monsoon safety measures and said preparedness during the rainy season was crucial for passenger safety and infrastructure resilience.
“Monsoon preparedness is not just a seasonal protocol; it reflects our proactive approach to passenger safety and infrastructure resilience. Every supervisor and every team member must act with urgency and precision,” he said.
