AP CM Naidu to Lay Foundation for Rs 750-Cr Hero Motors Global Parts Centre in Tirupati Dist. on July 1
Amaravati, June 29 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will lay the foundation stone for Hero Motors’ Global Parts Centre (GPC) at Madanapalem in Satyavedu mandal of Tirupati district on July 1.
The facility, to be established with an investment of ₹750 crore by Hero MotoCorp, is expected to generate employment for nearly 4,000 people, according to an official release, an official release said here on Monday.
The new Global Parts Centre will manufacture components for motorcycles, scooters and electric vehicles for both domestic and international markets.
Hero MotoCorp already operates a two-wheeler manufacturing plant near Sri City with an annual production capacity of 1.5 million vehicles.
During the programme, the Chief Minister will also launch the “Heroes of Tomorrow” scholarship programme instituted in the name of Brij Mohan Lall Munjal under the State Government’s P-4 initiative through the Swarna Andhra Foundation.
As part of the initiative, Hero MotoCorp has committed to providing scholarships to deserving students.
Naidu will also hand over specially designed electric mobility vehicles manufactured by Hero MotoCorp for use by the Andhra Pradesh Police.
Later in the day, the Chief Minister will participate in the “Pedala Sevalo” programme at Punnapuvaaripalem village in Chillakur mandal of SPSR Nellore district, where he will distribute NTR Bharosa pensions.
He will personally hand over the pension to a beneficiary at his residence before addressing a public meeting organised on the occasion.
