Kakinada Police Conduct Mega Cordon & Search Drive in Suryanarayanapuram

Kakinada, June 28 (TNT): In a major early-morning security exercise, Kakinada district police conducted a mega cordon and search operation in Suryanarayanapuram area on Sunday, as part of intensified efforts to maintain law and order and curb anti-social activities.

Acting on the instructions of District SP Bindu Madhav, the operation was carried out under the supervision of Three Town Circle Inspector K.V.S. Satyanarayana, One Town Circle Inspector M. Nagadurgarao, and Two Town Circle Inspector Majji Appala Naidu.

Police teams carried out intensive vehicle checks during the drive and identified around 30 motorcycles operating without valid documents. Officials said necessary verification and further action have been initiated.

Authorities stated that such cordon and search operations will be continued periodically to enhance public safety, deter unlawful activities, and strengthen crime prevention mechanisms in the region.

As part of the “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” campaign, police also conducted awareness programmes in the locality, holding street meetings with students and residents on the harmful effects of ganja and other narcotic substances.

A human chain was formed by students and locals who raised slogans such as “Say No to Drugs – Life is Dear.” Police personnel also delivered awareness sessions supported by PowerPoint presentations, highlighting the physical, psychological, and social consequences of drug abuse.

Police officials said the programme witnessed strong public participation and received widespread appreciation from local residents.
