Hyderabad, June 27 (TNT): CARE Hospitals, a part of Quality Care India Ltd. (QCIL), backed by Blackstone, on Saturday celebrated its 29th anniversary, marking nearly three decades of advancements in healthcare through medical innovation, clinical excellence and patient-centric care.
Established in 1997 by a group of cardiologists as a 100-bed heart institute with 20 cardiologists, one operating theatre and one catheterisation laboratory, the Hospitals has grown into one of India’s leading multi-specialty healthcare networks.
The hospital chain now operates 15 healthcare facilities across seven cities in six states, providing tertiary and quaternary care in more than 33 specialties.
The network serves over 1.5 million patients annually and has expanded its presence into Tier-II and emerging cities to improve access to advanced healthcare services.
Over the past 29 years, CARE Hospitals has introduced several pioneering medical procedures and technologies, including the development of India’s first indigenous coronary stent, pioneering swap kidney transplantation and womb transplantation, performing the country’s first fetal heart surgery, introducing 3D laparoscopic surgery in Central India, and becoming the first hospital in the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh to perform endovenous surgery for varicose veins.
The hospital network continues to strengthen its clinical capabilities through investments in robotic surgery, precision oncology, minimally invasive procedures, advanced operating theatres, artificial intelligence and integrated digital health solutions.
CARE Hospitals Chief Executive Officer Dr. Pawan Kumar said the institution’s 29-year journey reflects the trust of patients and the dedication of its doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals.
“Our milestones reflect our commitment to improving lives through clinical excellence and compassionate care. As healthcare evolves with artificial intelligence, robotics, genomics and precision medicine, CARE Hospitals will continue to lead this transformation while ensuring patients benefit from the latest medical advancements,” he said.
