YSRCP Kapus Meet has no clear agenda : alleges TDP MLA Nehru

Kakinada, June 25 (TNT):  TDP Polit Bureau member and Jaggampeta MLA Jyothula Nehru on Thursday alleged that the YSRCP Kapus recent Meet has no specific agenda and remarked that instead of discussing  important issues such as  Kapu community overall development, welfare, education- increasing of employment avenues ,they utilized it for their political interests.

Addressing a press conference at the district TDP office here,  Nehru said the recent Kapu leaders  meeting held under the auspices of YSRCP no discussions were held on issues relating to action plan for the development of the Kapus, the demands to be placed before the Government and the future plan of action .

He  made it clear that the real benefit accrued to Kapus was  during the Chief Minister Damodaram Sanjeevaiah regime and later in the present Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu regime.

” Instead of indulging in politics in the name of Kapus development, it is essential that suitable decisions to pave the way for Kapus future should be taken’ he remarked.

Nehru has recalled how the TDP government has taken special steps , in the backdrop of the Kapus demand for BC status, keeping in view the limitations of constitution and legal issues.

When problems arose in implementation of BC Reservation to Kapus, Nehru recalled how the then Government passed a special resolution in the assembly and sent it to the Central government by including Kapus in a special category.

Similarly the government took steps to provide significant benefits to Kapus by extending 10 percent  EWS reservations.

He said the successive YSRCP government did not show interest to continue the programmes pertaining to Kapus.

Nehru asked the Kapu leaders why they kept silent when they were in power and did not question the government on Kapu reservations and Kapu welfare schemes and strengthening of Kapu finance  corporation.

Now it is not proper on the part of the YSRCP Kapu leaders to mislead the kapu community holding political meetings.

Nehru further claimed that during the TDP governments regime priority was accord on providing basic infrastructure facilities and cited the construction  of Kapu kalyana mandapam at Kakinada, Kapu Bhavan in Jaggampeta as the best examples.

Though Kapu Bhavan construction was started in Gokavaram it could not make much headway due to change of government. Nehru said the present coalition government was striving for the overall development of all sections and funds would be released to Kapu corporation and other  corporations soon.

Instead of organising Political meetings in the name of the Kapu community, it is important that permanent solutions should be shown  for Kapus problems. But it is  unfortunate that they confined themselves for political criticism, he added.

TDP leaders Penke Srinivasa Baba, Sunkara Pavani, Ramadevu Seethaiah Dora, Vundavalli Veerraju, Gundu Srinivasarao, Devu Venkanna and Bolla Krishna Mohan were among those who attended
