GITAM’s Department of English and Other Languages Offers Future-Ready Programmes in Humanities

Hyderabad, June 23 (TNT): The Department of English and Other Languages at GITAM Deemed to be University, Hyderabad, continues to nurture future-ready professionals through its undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in English, including BA, MA and Ph.D.

Functioning under the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (GSHS), the department provides a vibrant academic environment that blends intellectual rigor, creativity and research excellence, the University said in a release here on Tuesday..

The department is supported by a distinguished faculty with extensive teaching and research experience from reputed national and international institutions.

Faculty members specialize in areas such as Indian Writing in English, Print Culture, Translation Studies, Literature of Migration, Digital Humanities, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Marginality and Literature, Sociolinguistics, English Language Education, Stylistics and Phonetics.

Students receive a strong foundation in American Literature, British Literature and Indian Writing in English while also exploring emerging interdisciplinary fields including Digital Humanities, Comparative Literature, Cultural Studies, Applied Linguistics and English Language Education.

To enhance learning and academic engagement, the department regularly organizes workshops, conferences, expert lectures and knowledge-sharing sessions featuring eminent scholars and industry practitioners.
