Former Governor Dattatreya Pays Tribute to Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee on Balidan Diwas
Hyderabad, June 23 (TNT): Former Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya paid floral tributes to the portrait of Syama Prasad Mookerjee on the occasion of his Balidan Diwas (Martyrdom Day) at Ramnagar here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Dattatreya said that Dr. Mookerjee dedicated his entire life to safeguarding the unity of the nation, nationalism and democratic values. He said the sacrifices made by Dr. Mookerjee for the unity and integrity of India would continue to inspire generations.
Recalling Dr. Mookerjee’s contribution to national integration, Dattatreya said he earned a permanent place in history by championing the principle that “one nation cannot have two Constitutions, two flags and two Prime Ministers.”
He said Dr. Mookerjee’s life remains a source of inspiration for the nation through its ideals of patriotism, selfless service and unwavering commitment to national interests.
Dattatreya further stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Centre fulfilled Dr. Mookerjee’s long-cherished vision by abrogating Article 370.
He also said India had demonstrated its firm commitment to national security by taking strong measures against terrorism and sending a clear message to those supporting such activities.
Several BJP leaders and party workers participated in the programme and paid their tributes to Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee.
