Hyderabad, June 16 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday reviewed the proposed high-speed bullet train corridors connecting Hyderabad with Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai, and suggested the inclusion of key stations to improve connectivity and promote tourism and economic development.
During a review meeting on the bullet train projects and the proposed Warangal Airport, the Chief Minister recommended establishing a station near Ananthagiri in Vikarabad district on the Hyderabad-Pune bullet train corridor.
He also discussed the need for efficient transport links connecting Ananthagiri with Hyderabad’s IT hub.
For the Hyderabad-Bengaluru high-speed rail corridor, Revanth Reddy proposed a station at Bharat Future City and suggested that stations near Mannanur in the Nallamala region and close to Somasila be given priority.
He also stressed the need to align the railway route in a manner that improves access to these important tourist destinations.
The Chief Minister said Shamshabad should be developed as a major bullet train hub to strengthen regional connectivity and support future transportation needs.
Reviewing plans for the proposed Warangal Airport, Revanth Reddy directed officials to ensure that the airport’s design reflects the heritage and architectural legacy of the Kakatiya Empire.
He suggested the development of a large island at the airport entrance featuring statues of Rani Rudrama Devi and Rudradeva, along with a massive Nandi statue, to showcase Telangana’s historical and cultural identity.
The Chief Minister instructed officials to hold detailed discussions with the Airports Authority of India regarding the airport’s design and development plans.
