KTR Alleges Congress Neglecting Palamuru, Predicts BRS Sweep in Mahabubnagar
Hyderabad, June 14 (TNT): Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) on Sunday accused the Congress government of neglecting the interests of Mahabubnagar district and asserted that the people would reject both the ruling party and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy in the next elections.
Addressing a review meeting of party leaders from the undivided Mahabubnagar district, KTR alleged that the state government had sidelined the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme despite it being close to completion.
He claimed that the Congress government was neglecting a project capable of providing irrigation to lakhs of acres and accused it of failing to safeguard the interests of farmers in the region.
The BRS leader alleged that the people of Mahabubnagar had recognised the government’s failures and would deliver a verdict against the Congress in the next elections.
He also claimed that the people of Kodangal constituency would ensure the defeat of Revanth Reddy.
KTR said development could not be achieved through announcements and publicity campaigns alone and accused the government of failing to complete key infrastructure and irrigation projects.
Recalling the situation in Mahabubnagar before the formation of Telangana, he said the district was once known for drought and migration and credited the previous BRS government led by former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao with transforming the region through irrigation, welfare and development initiatives.
He acknowledged that the BRS had not effectively communicated its achievements during previous elections but claimed that people were now recognising the value of the developmental works undertaken during the party’s tenure.
KTR urged party leaders to highlight both the developmental achievements of the BRS government and what he described as the failures of the Congress administration, particularly in relation to irrigation projects and regional development.
Earlier, KTR held a detailed review meeting with leaders from the undivided Mahabubnagar district at the residence of former minister Lakshma Reddy.
Former ministers, MLAs, MLCs and other senior party leaders attended the meeting.
The BRS Working President reviewed the political situation in the district, assessed organisational activities and discussed preparations for the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls and the party’s membership enrolment programme.
He directed party leaders to strengthen the organisation at the booth level and intensify outreach programmes across constituencies.
According to party leaders who attended the meeting, public dissatisfaction with the Congress government was increasing and support for the BRS was growing across the district.
Expressing confidence in the party’s prospects, KTR said the BRS was well-positioned to secure a clean sweep in the undivided Mahabubnagar district in the next elections and called upon leaders to convert public support into electoral success through sustained organisational efforts.
