Sasken Launches Hyderabad CoE, Expands Focus on Semiconductor and Digital Engineering

Hyderabad, June 8 (TNT):Bengaluru based Sasken Technologies Ltd. on Monday announced the launch of its new Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Hyderabad as part of its strategy to expand product engineering capabilities and accelerate digital innovation for global customers.

The new facility will strengthen Sasken’s regional delivery footprint and deepen collaboration with strategic chipset customers, including Qualcomm, and their OEM ecosystem, the company said.

The Hyderabad CoE will focus on next-generation engineering across connected devices, 5G platforms, Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, embedded systems and digital product engineering.

The centre is designed to enable closer customer engagement, accelerate engineering cycles and support faster product innovation across sectors such as automotive, smart devices, high technology, satellite communications and industrial systems.

Addressing a media briefing, Rajiv C Mody,Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) and CEO, said the Hyderabad centre has been established to support major semiconductor customers, particularly chipset makers and hyperscalers operating in the region.

He said Sasken provides end-to-end product engineering services covering silicon design, embedded software, product development and manufacturing support.

“Sasken is a full-service product engineering company. We work across the entire technology stack, from silicon design to end-product engineering and software development,” Mody said.

The company has engineering centres across Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Mumbai, besides overseas locations in China, Japan, Finland and the United States.

Sasken serves customers across semiconductor, automotive, consumer electronics, industrial equipment, networking, satellite communications and hyperscaler segments, he added.

The company recently enhanced its semiconductor and connected-device engineering capabilities through its integration with Borqs Technologies.

Chief Data Science and Engineering officer Nirmala Datla, who has also been appointed Site Leader for the Hyderabad CoE, said the city’s strong engineering talent ecosystem would help the company scale delivery capabilities and strengthen customer collaboration.

“The Hyderabad CoE represents a strategic investment to support the growing demand for Sasken’s capabilities in product engineering and digital transformation. Hyderabad’s strong engineering talent ecosystem enables us to scale delivery, deepen customer collaboration and accelerate innovation and time-to-market for our customers,” she added.

Hareesh Ramanna, CXO, Sasken Technologies and President, Borqs Technologies (Sasken Group) , India, said the centre would strengthen Sasken’s ability to serve customers with greater speed, scale and proximity.

“This Centre of Excellence strengthens Sasken’s delivery footprint and positions us to support customers with greater speed, scale and proximity,” he said.

Hiring at the facility will focus on high-skill roles across semiconductors, original design manufacturing (ODM), automotive engineering, data science and advanced digital technologies. The company said recruitment will primarily target product engineers, architects, AI specialists and designers supporting next-generation engineering programmes.

The Hyderabad CoE has been launched with an initial seating capacity of 120 and is expected to expand in line with customer demand.

“Hyderabad has become a major semiconductor hub. Being close to customers enables faster collaboration with chipset companies and hyperscalers who build products around these platforms,” Ramanna said.

The company currently employs around 2,460 people globally.

“Aligned with our growth strategy, we continue to make focused investments in talent and capabilities that enable us to scale the right segments and deliver sustained growth,” he added.

Mody said Sasken works with several Fortune 500 companies, global hyperscalers, automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), semiconductor companies and industrial technology firms. The company also maintains long-standing partnerships with technology leaders such as Google and Qualcomm.

Sasken reported combined revenue of about USD 125 million for the financial year ended March 2026 and said it remains open to strategic investments and acquisitions to strengthen its technology portfolio and global presence.
