Amaravati, Feb 6 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh is set to take a major step in strengthening its information technology and advanced computing capabilities with the foundation ceremony of the Amaravati Quantum Valley (AQV) on February 7.
Conceived as a future-focused technology ecosystem, AQV aims to integrate quantum computing with mainstream IT, cloud services, cybersecurity and enterprise digital solutions, positioning Amaravati as a next-generation technology hub.
The foundation ceremony will be attended by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Science and Technology Jitendra Singh, and Andhra Pradesh Minister for IT Nara Lokesh, along with senior government officials, technology leaders, scientists and academic heads from across the country.
As part of the launch, global technology majors IBM and Tata Consultancy Services will introduce quantum cloud services, enabling enterprises, startups and researchers to access advanced quantum computing resources through cloud-based platforms.
The event will also mark the establishment of the IBM–TCS Quantum Innovation Center, which is expected to drive the development of enterprise-ready quantum applications and hybrid IT solutions.
The Amaravati Quantum Valley will place strong emphasis on building future IT talent, with SRM University setting up a Quantum Talent Hub and a Quantum Reference Facility to train engineers and students in quantum programming, quantum-safe cybersecurity and advanced computing systems.
In addition, a quantum-safe application developed by QClairvoyance Quantum Labs will be launched, demonstrating real-world IT security use cases for government and enterprise adoption.
The signing of memoranda of understanding with nine technology companies further reflects growing industry participation in the emerging quantum–IT ecosystem.
The programme also includes interactions with students from the AQV Hackathon and startups from Medha Towers, highlighting the state’s focus on innovation, startups and the integration of young talent into advanced technology domains.
Senior officials from the Department of Science and Technology, IIT Madras, L&T, IBM Research India and TCS will be present, underscoring close collaboration between government, academia and industry.
With Amaravati Quantum Valley, Andhra Pradesh aims to position itself at the forefront of quantum-enabled IT services, strengthen its digital infrastructure, attract high-value technology investments and build a future-ready workforce, reinforcing its image as a technology-forward state aligned with India’s next phase of digital and deep-tech growth.
