Pithapuram (Andhra Pradesh), Feb 6 (TNT): Under the aegis of the Umar Alisha Rural Development Trust (UARDT), Pithapuram, a free homeopathy medicine distribution and awareness programme was organised at the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Gurukulam Girls School and Junior College, P. Venkatapuram, to prevent the spread of chickenpox and conjunctivitis among students.
The organisers on Thursday stated that the programme was conducted at the request of the school principal, with the objective of creating awareness and taking preventive measures to curb the spread of chickenpox and eye infections among students.
As part of the programme, paediatric specialist Dr. Pulla Uma Maheshwari from MBM Multispeciality Homeo Clinic while addressing the students, explained in detail the symptoms of chickenpox, modes of transmission, and the precautions to be taken to prevent infection.
She also stressed the importance of maintaining personal hygiene and avoiding touching the eyes with unclean hands to prevent conjunctivitis.
Dr. Uma Maheshwari further explained that homeopathic medicines help in strengthening the body’s immune system, enabling it to effectively fight viral infections.
She noted that a strong immune system significantly reduces the risk of contracting diseases and highlighted the role of homeopathy in disease prevention.
The programme was attended by Vice-Principal D. Shashikala, Health Supervisor G. Chakramma, teachers B. Lakshmi, V. Madhavi and Harika, along with students and UARDT members, including S. Sai Kumar, who contributed to the successful conduct of the event.
