NCC Cadets in Kakinada Sensitised on Road Safety, Cyber Crimes
Kakinada, May 23 (TNT): NCC cadets attending the Annual Training Camp at the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada campus were sensitised on road safety measures and cyber crimes during a special awareness programme conducted on Saturday.
The awareness sessions were organised for boy and girl cadets of the 9(A) Air Squadron (Technical) NCC at the Alumni Auditorium under the guidance of district police authorities and conducted by the city traffic police.
Speaking on the occasion, Traffic Police One Town Inspector N. Ramesh explained various aspects of road safety through PowerPoint presentations and video demonstrations.
He briefed cadets on causes of road accidents, dangers of rash and negligent driving, triple riding, bike stunts and minor driving, while stressing the importance of wearing helmets.
The officer also explained provisions under the PM RAHAT scheme (Road Accident Victim Hospitalisation and Assured Treatment), under which cashless medical treatment up to ₹1.50 lakh is available for road accident victims.
Cadets were educated about traffic signals, safe road-crossing methods in areas without zebra crossings and the importance of not travelling beyond seating limits in autorickshaws.
The programme also focused on cyber crime awareness, particularly digital arrest frauds and other online scams.
Cadets were advised to immediately contact emergency helpline numbers 112, 1930 and 1972 in case of emergencies or cyber fraud incidents.
NCC Kakinada group commander Group Captain P Praveen Babu , Traffic reserve Subinspector Satyanarayana and others participated in the programme.
