Fuel, LPG Supply Stable Across Telangana, Say OMCs
Hyderabad, May 18 (TNT): Public sector oil marketing companies (OMCs) on Monday said the availability of petrol, diesel and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in Telangana remains sufficient to meet current demand, with no shortage reported anywhere in the state.
In a press release, the state-level coordinator for OMCs said the companies are closely monitoring the supply situation and are taking necessary measures to streamline logistics and further expedite deliveries.
During the first fortnight of May, OMCs recorded a 14.2 percent growth in petrol supplies and a 15.7 percent increase in diesel supplies across the state.
The companies also said domestic LPG bookings have declined due to high summer temperatures and there has been no panic booking by consumers.
A total of 20.06 lakh domestic LPG cylinders have been delivered in Telangana so far this month, which OMCs described as normal for the season.
Consumers were encouraged to book LPG cylinders through SMS, missed call services, IVRS and online platforms.
OMCs also urged customers to support the “Delivery Authentication Code” (DAC) system, an OTP-based delivery verification mechanism aimed at preventing diversion of LPG cylinders and ensuring delivery to intended beneficiaries.
According to the companies, DAC implementation in Telangana has already crossed 95%, and efforts are underway to achieve 100% compliance with the support of consumers and LPG distributors.
The oil companies appealed to the public to rely only on authentic sources of information and avoid falling prey to rumours and fake news regarding fuel and LPG availability.
