Farmers from Jaggampeta in Kakinada Dist. donates 1600 tonnes of Dry Fodder to TTDs SV Goshala

Tirupati, May 10 (TNT): Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Additional Executive Officer  Ch Venkaiah Chowdary on Saturday said that protection of cows is a sacred service in Indian culture and everyone should take part in the cow protection movement.

Around 1600 tonnes of dry fodder was donated to the Tirupati SV Goshala through 180 lorries under the leadership of TTD Board Member Jyothula Nehru, Nehru Foundation and Srinivasa Seva Trust Chairman T. Satyanarayana.

Speaking on the occasion, the Additional EO appreciated the donors for collecting fodder from Jaggampeta in Kakinada district and bearing transportation and other expenses to make such a large-scale donation for the first time. He said service activities for cow protection and dairy development are an inspiration to society.

He said the donated fodder would be supplied to TTD Goshalas located at Tirupati, Tirumala, Palamaneru and Kamalayyagaripalli near Bakarapeta. At present, a total of 2974 cows, bulls and calves are being maintained in these Goshalas.

Jyothula Nehru said that while 38 lorries of fodder were donated last year, this year 180 lorries were offered.

He thanked the farmers of Jaggampeta for donating the fodder free of cost.

On the occasion, he also donated two cows and a calf to the SV Goshala.

TTD Board Members Ms. Panabaka Lakshmi, Ms Janaki Devi,  G. Bhanu Prakash Reddy, N. Sadashiva Rao,  Shanta Ram,  Darshan, SV Gosala Director Dr. AVN Sivakumar and others were present.
