Tirupati, May 8 (TNT): The grand Rathotsavam of Sri Vedanarayana Swamy Temple was held with religious fervour on Friday morning as part of the annual Brahmotsavams.
Lord Sri Vedanarayana Swamy along with Sridevi and Bhudevi was taken in a majestic chariot procession through the four mada streets amid chants of “Govinda”, bhajans, drum beats and various devotional programmes.
Devotees enthusiastically participated in the procession by pulling the temple chariot and offering Harathi at several points along the route.
Following the procession, Veda Parayanam, Prabandham and Sathumora rituals were performed, followed by Maha Harathi. Snapana Tirumanjanam was also conducted to the deities.
Temple authorities said the Ashwa Vahana Seva would be held at 7.30 pm on Friday.
Temple Superintendent Srinivasulu Reddy, Temple Inspector Chengal Rayulu and a large number of devotees participated in the event.
Temple officials said Chakrasnanam would be conducted on Saturday from 10.30 am to 11.45 am, while the annual Brahmotsavams would conclude with Dwajavarohanam at 7.30 pm.
