Hyderabad, Feb 3 (TNT): In a move aligned with strengthening ESG-led infrastructure, Re Sustainability Limited(ReSL), a KKR-backed integrated waste management major, on Tuesday announced a strategic partnership with Janyu Technologies to deploy advanced robotics and automation in high-risk waste management operations across India.
The partnership, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), combines Re Sustainability’s three decades of operational scale, regulatory expertise and pan-India presence with Janyu Technologies’ deep-tech, robotics-enabled solutions.
The collaboration is aimed at delivering safer, smarter and more efficient waste management models while improving ESG outcomes for industrial and municipal clients, the company said in a release here.
India’s waste management industry, estimated at over USD 20 billion, is expanding rapidly due to tighter environmental regulations, higher compliance standards and growing ESG mandates from investors and corporates.
The alliance seeks to capitalise on this growth by accelerating the adoption of technology-led solutions for hazardous, bio-medical and industrial waste streams.
Under the partnership, remotely operated robotic systems will be deployed for high-risk activities such as sludge removal, hazardous waste handling and confined-space cleaning. These solutions are expected to significantly reduce human exposure, enhance operational efficiency and improve traceability—key metrics increasingly tracked under ESG and sustainability reporting frameworks.
Commenting on the development, Masood Mallick, Managing Director & Group CEO of Re Sustainability, said the collaboration represents a critical step towards integrating advanced robotics into regulated waste operations, enabling safer workplaces while improving consistency and efficiency at scale.
Abhimanyu Raja, Managing Director of Janyu Technologies, noted that India’s industrial growth must be supported by strong safety standards and sustainable operations, adding that the partnership would help build globally competitive infrastructure through indigenous innovation.
With a focus on safety-first operations, compliance and circular economy goals, the partnership is positioned to create scalable and cost-efficient waste management solutions, reinforcing ESG-aligned growth opportunities in India’s rapidly evolving environmental services sector.
