BRs Slams Telangana CM Revanth Over ‘Sadistic Pleasure’ Remark, Flags Governance Failures
Hyderabad, Apr 29 (TNT): BRS Working President and former Minister K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) on Wednesday criticised Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over his reported remark that he derives “sadistic pleasure” from criticism by the public and opposition parties.
Addressing a gathering at Telangana Bhavan here, KTR described the statement as “shameful” and alleged that it reflected insensitivity towards public concerns.
He said people across the state were expressing distress over what he termed governance failures, but the Chief Minister appeared to be dismissing such criticism.
KTR raised concerns over multiple issues, including the reported deaths of Gurukul students, alleged irregularities in power supply, and delays in disbursal of Rythu Bandhu benefits.
He also highlighted the situation faced by farmers, stating that crop procurement had slowed, leaving produce such as paddy exposed to rains.
On education, he alleged that pending fee reimbursement dues have created uncertainty for students, with some institutions reportedly withholding certificates and restricting attendance.
Referring to recent court directions permitting colleges to collect dues from parents, he said the situation was affecting students’ prospects.
KTR noted that the fee reimbursement scheme, introduced during the tenure of former Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, was implemented effectively in the past but is now facing challenges.
He further alleged that delays in crop procurement were impacting farmers growing paddy, maize and jowar, and accused the government of slowing processes to avoid additional payouts.
Earlier, several leaders from different political parties in Kalwakurthy constituency joined the BRS in the presence of KTR.
Reaffirming the party’s position, KTR said the BRS would continue to raise public issues both in power and in opposition.
