Hyderabad, Apr 25 (TNT): Telangana Jagruthi President and former BRS MP, K. Kavitha on Thursday announced the launch of a new political outfit, the Telangana Rashtra Sena (TRS) positioning it as an alternative force aimed at achieving what she described as “Samajika Telangana.”
The announcement was made at a public meeting in Medchal, where she outlined the party’s vision and took sharp aim at existing political players in the state.
Addressing the gathering, Kavitha said the aspirations behind the Telangana movement remained unfulfilled even after more than a decade of statehood. She also issued an apology to the people, acknowledging her association with the previous government led by her father and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR), while asserting the need for a fresh political direction.
The new party, she said, would work towards establishing what she termed “Amma’s Rule,” a governance model focused on welfare, empathy, and inclusive development.
As part of its agenda, the party unveiled five key focus areas—education, healthcare, agriculture, livelihood, and social justice—collectively referred to as Panchajanya.
Kavitha also launched strong criticism against the ruling Congress government and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing them of administrative failures.
She further targeted the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) , alleging that both parties had failed to address key issues concerning Telangana.
Among the promises highlighted were free education and healthcare for economically weaker sections, financial support for youth entrepreneurship, and measures aimed at strengthening the agricultural sector.
She also claimed that her party would strive to emerge as a major political force in the state within a short span.
The announcement marks a significant political development, potentially signaling a shift in Telangana’s political landscape, especially given Kavitha’s background and previous association with the state’s ruling establishment.
