Karimnagar (Telangana), Feb 2 (TNT):Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Monday accused the Congress government of planning to increase property taxes immediately after the municipal elections and slammed the BRS for lacking financial capacity to develop Karimnagar.
Election campaigning in Karimnagar municipal wards, Sanjay said the Congress had failed to implement its six guarantees and had not released a single rupee to municipalities or the Karimnagar Municipal Corporation in the last two years.
He questioned why voters should trust a party that burdened people with false promises.
Attacking the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), he alleged that the party’s decade-long rule was marked by corruption and land encroachments.
He said voting for BRS was equivalent to “throwing votes into a drainage,” warning that central funds would be diverted for commissions if the party returned to power.
He asserted that all major development works in Karimnagar were carried out with central funds and promised to bring more allocations if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was given control of the Mayor’s post.
