Tirupati, Apr 21 (TNT): Scholar Narasimhan on Tuesday said the kainkaryam (service) system established by Ramanujacharya in Tirumala continues to this day and remains foundational to temple traditions.
Delivering a discourse on “Ramanujacharya – Tirumala Kainkaryam” on the second day of the Avatar Mahotsavams at Annamacharya Kalamandiram, he said the systems introduced by Ramanujacharya in Tirumala, Govindaraja Swamy Temple and other Divya Desams are still being followed.
He noted that several key temple practices, including Brahmotsavams, Abhishekams and the Jeeyar system, were initiated by Ramanujacharya and continue to guide temple administration and rituals.
Later, a Harikatha programme was presented by Chandrasekhar Bhagavatar of Tirupati.
Alwar Divya Prabandha Project Coordinator Purushottam, officials and a large number of devotees attended the programme.
