Agastheeswara Swamy Brahmotsavams Begin with Dwajarohanam at Narayanavanam

Tirupati, Apr 21 (TNT): The annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Agastheeswara Swamy Temple commenced grandly on Tuesday morning with Dwajarohanam.

The temple, dedicated to Lord Agastheeswara Swamy along with Goddess Maragathavalli Ammavaru, witnessed the ceremonial hoisting of the temple flag between 7:30 AM and 9:00 AM in Vrushabha Lagnam.

In the evening, the deity will bless devotees on Chandraprabha Vahanam.

According to the schedule, Simha Vahanam will be held on April 22, Hamsa Vahanam on April 23, Sesha Vahanam on April 24, Nandi Vahanam on April 25, Gaja Vahanam on April 26 and Rathotsavam on April 27.

On April 28, Kalyanotsavam will be performed at 7:00 PM followed by Ashwa Vahanam.

On April 29, Sri Nataraja Swamy Veedhi Utsavam will be held in the morning, while in the evening the Lord will bless devotees on Ravanasura Vahanam.

The Brahmotsavams will conclude on April 30 with Trishoola Snanam at Kailasakona and Dwajavarohanam at 7:00 PM.

Temple officials said Snapana Tirumanjanam will be conducted every morning and Vahana Seva will be held daily in the evening.

Cultural programmes including Kolatam, spiritual discourses and devotional music are being organised under the auspices of TTD Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad and Annamacharya Project.

Temple Inspector Nagaraju, priests and a large number of devotees participated in the inaugural ceremony.

According to temple history, the shrine was constructed by Akasa Maharaju, father of Goddess Padmavathi Devi, who ruled the Narayanavanam region. The presiding deity is believed to be self-manifested, and later consecrated by Sage Agastya as per Vedic and Agama traditions, giving the temple its present name.
