Secunderabad, Apr 13 (TNT) : South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava on Monday directed officials to take proactive measures to ensure uninterrupted train operations during the summer season.
Reviewing safety preparedness across the zone, Srivastava emphasised the need to intensify the use of rail thermometers and strengthen track infrastructure to withstand extreme heat conditions. He also called for regular safety inspections, with a focus on ballast recouping and maintaining track stability.
Highlighting fire safety, he instructed officials to conduct detailed risk analysis and implement preventive measures to avoid fire incidents in trains during the peak summer months.
The General Manager stressed strict adherence to safety protocols at bridges and construction sites, including issuance of caution orders to field staff. He also called for tamper-proof locking of electrical cables in trains and routine checks to ensure compliance.
Officials were asked to remain vigilant and ensure all precautionary measures are in place for safe and smooth train operations.
The review meeting was attended by Additional General Manager Satya Prakash, Principal Heads of Departments, and Divisional Railway Managers of Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded divisions through video conference.
