AP CM, Dy CM Mourn Demise of Asha Bhosle

Amaravati, Apr 12 (TNT) :Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed deep sorrow over the demise of legendary singer and Padma Vibhushan awardee Asha Bhosle.

In a message posted on ‘X’, Naidu said he was deeply saddened to learn of her passing. He described her as a legendary and versatile vocalist, widely regarded as one of the most recorded artists in music history.

He noted that her extraordinary contribution to the music industry spanned over seven decades, enriching generations with timeless melodies.

He said her legacy would remain an integral part of India’s musical heritage and continue to resonate through the ages.

He conveyed heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and admirers across the world.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also expressed grief over her demise.

In his message, he said he was deeply saddened by the passing of the iconic singer and prayed for her soul to rest in eternal peace.

He described Asha Bhosle as a legendary voice in Indian cinema who rendered numerous memorable songs across several decades in multiple languages, including Hindi, Marathi, Telugu and Bengali.

Highlighting her versatility, he said she excelled across classical, contemporary and Western music styles, earning admiration from generations of music lovers.

He noted that though her contribution to Telugu cinema was limited, she remained widely cherished in the Telugu states through her extensive work in Hindi music.

The Deputy Chief Minister also extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members.
