Hyderabad, Apr 8 (TNT): Telangana Jagruti President and former BRS MP, Kavitha , on Wednesday alleged that Telangana had been turned into an “ATM” for the ruling Congress and accused the state government of neglecting public issues.
Addressing a gathering at the Telangana Jagruti office here, Kavitha said April 25, 2026, would mark a defining moment in the state’s political history with the emergence of “fresh blood and a new political culture.”
The remarks were made during an induction programme in which Gongalla Ranjith Kumar, president of Nadigadda Hakkula Porata Samithi, joined Telangana Jagruti along with around 1,000 supporters from Jogulamba Gadwal district.
Stating that the organisation would adopt a people-centric approach, Kavitha said its political agenda would be based on questioning, fighting for public issues and resolving people’s problems.
She criticised both the ruling Congress and opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), alleging that both parties had failed to address the concerns of the public.
Launching a sharp attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the former BRS leader alleged that the Congress government had failed to implement welfare promises including Rythu Bharosa and complete farm loan waiver.
She also questioned the Chief Minister’s silence over the Centre’s decision on granting national project status to the Upper Bhadra Project, claiming it would adversely affect water availability to the undivided Mahabubnagar district.
Kavitha said Telangana Jagruti would strengthen its grassroots presence through padyatras and public outreach programmes across the state.
Welcoming the new entrants into the organisation, she said Telangana Jagruti would expand its reach across villages and emerge as a strong voice for people’s issues.
