Hyderabad, Apr 7 (TNT): GITAM Deemed to be University has invited applications for admission to its Ph.D. programmes for the academic year 2026–27 across its campuses in Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Visakhapatnam.
According to Director – Research and Development Prof Ramagopal, admissions are open for full-time candidates in disciplines including Architecture, Engineering, Science, Management, Pharmacy, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Law.
The Extramural Ph.D. programme, aimed at industry professionals and scientists, is available in Engineering, Science and Pharmacy.
Eligible candidates include those with a relevant master’s degree with at least 55 per cent marks, a four-year bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 75 per cent, or an M.Phil. qualification.
Final-year students awaiting results are also eligible to apply.
Selection will be based on the GITAM Research Admissions Test (GReAT) followed by an interview, the University said in a release here on Tuesday.
Candidates with valid national-level test scores such as UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, GATE, GPAT, ICAR or DBT-JRF are exempted from the written test and will be directly called for interview.
The last date for submission of online applications is May 11, 2026.
The entrance examinations are scheduled to be held on May 23 (online) and May 30 (in-person), with the academic session commencing on August 24, 2026.
The university offers a monthly fellowship of ₹33,000 for eligible full-time Ph.D. scholars for up to three years, along with access to advanced research facilities and academic support.
