Amaravati, Apr 7 (TNT) : Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Tuesday said the state is no longer without a capital or a future clouded by uncertainty, as Amaravati has been officially recognised as the capital of Andhra Pradesh.
In a post on X, he said April 6 would be etched in history as the day Amaravati received formal recognition, following the passage of the Bill in Parliament, issuance of the Gazette Notification by the Government of India, and assent by the President.
He expressed ” gratitude to President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for making the development possible”.
Describing it as a historic moment, Pawan Kalyan said, “The achievement belongs to the farmers who made sacrifices and to the people who stood firm in their resolve.”
He noted that after 12 years of state bifurcation, Andhra Pradesh has finally secured official recognition for its capital.
Calling for unity, he urged people to move beyond past uncertainties and work together to build Amaravati as a people’s capital, laying a strong foundation for future generations and advancing towards the vision of “Swarna Andhra 2047.”
He concluded with the slogans “Jai Andhra, Jai Bharat, Jai Hind.”
