Tadepalligudem (Andhra Pradesh), Apr 5 (TNT) : Marking Day 5 of World Homoeopathy Week 2026, ASR Homoeopathic Medical College (ASRHMC), in association with the Umar Alisha Rural Development Trust (UARDT), intensified its rural healthcare outreach by organising medical awareness and diagnostic screening camps in Uradallapalem and Undrajavaram villages here on Sunday.
Senior faculty led the initiatives, with Prof. Dr. Ananda Kumar Pingali, Dr. K. L. Janaki, and Dr. T. Rajya Lakshmi providing consultations at Uradallapalem, while Dr. P. Manoj and Dr. R. Priyanka spearheaded the Undrajavaram 
camp, focusing on metabolic health and community counselling. The camps were supported by interns, students, and volunteers. The programme primarily targeted early detection and awareness of chronic metabolic conditions such as thyroid disorders, obesity, hypertension, and diabetes.
Doctors noted that these conditions often remain undiagnosed in early stages and stressed the importance of timely screening for effective homoeopathic management.
A key highlight of the day was the focus on bone health.
Medical experts underlined the rising incidence of bone fragility due to Vitamin D and calcium deficiencies, emphasising the importance of Bone Mineral Density (BMD) testing for early detection of bone loss.
Announcing a major initiative, ASRHMC, with support from Fourrts Herbo Minerals, will conduct a mega free BMD screening drive for 300 patients.
The camps are scheduled to be held on April 6 at Attili (Umar Alisha Trust, near MRO Office) and on April 7 at ASR Homoeopathic Medical College, Prathipadu, Tadepalligudem, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
ASRHMC appealed to residents of Attili, Tadepalligudem, and nearby areas to make use of the free diagnostic services.
The institution reiterated its commitment to delivering evidence-based homoeopathic care combined with modern screening techniques to address metabolic and bone health issues effectively.
