Hyderabad, Apr 4 (TNT): The Telangana Medical and Health Services Recruitment Board (MHSRB) on Saturday announced the selection of Assistant Professors in key medical specialties including Anaesthesia, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics and Orthopaedics.
A total of 132 candidates have been provisionally selected across the four specialties under the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), according to the selection notification release here.
As per the details, 37 candidates have been selected in Anaesthesia, 65 in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, 23 in Paediatrics and 7 in Orthopaedics.
The recruitment is part of a larger drive to fill 607 Assistant Professor posts in 34 specialties, notified earlier by the Board.
Candidates were shortlisted based on merit and called for certificate verification, which was conducted on April 1 and 2 in Hyderabad.
The Board stated that selections are based on marks obtained in qualifying examinations along with weightage for contract or outsourced service in state government institutions.
However, several posts across categories, particularly in reserved categories and physically challenged (OH) quota, remained unfilled due to non-availability of eligible candidates.
The selection list is provisional and subject to verification of certificates, medical fitness and the outcome of any pending court cases, the Board added.
