Tirupati, Mar 31 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL) has initiated disciplinary action against 25 officials and staff members for alleged irregularities and negligence in duty, officials said on Tuesday.
APSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Sivashankar Lotheti issued orders against personnel across cadres, including executive engineers, deputy executive engineers, assistant engineers, junior engineers, accounts officers and field staff.
The action follows allegations of corruption, irregularities in recording high-tension (HT) service readings, and unauthorised execution of works across multiple operational circles.
In the Tirupati circle, penalties such as withholding of increments were imposed for unauthorised works, while several officials were issued show-cause notices over alleged illegal line alterations and corruption-related issues.
In the Kurnool circle, officials faced disciplinary action for irregularities in HT meter readings, with penalties including withholding of promotions and increments.
An accounts officer was also served a notice for negligence in processing a consumer service name change.
Officials in Kadapa and Sri Sathya Sai circles were similarly issued notices or penalised for procedural violations and unauthorised electrical modifications.
In the Anantapur circle, a junior engineer was suspended over irregularities in sanctioning agricultural power services, while a deputy executive engineer was issued a show-cause notice.
In the Chittoor circle, an assistant lineman was suspended for unauthorised work related to line shifting and transformer installation.
The CMD said strict action will be taken against lapses and stressed the need for accountability and transparency across the organisation.
