Hyderabad, Mar 31 (TNT): Hyderabad City Police will deploy around 3,000 personnel for the “Sri Veer Hanuman Vijaya Yatra” scheduled on April 2 on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, to ensure the procession is conducted peacefully.
A coordination meeting was held here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Hyderabad Police Commissioner V. C. Sajjanar, with participation from various government departments and festival organisers.
The Commissioner said that, like the recently concluded Sri Rama Navami Shobha Yatra, the Hanuman Vijaya Yatra should also be conducted in a peaceful atmosphere with cooperation from all stakeholders.
Police said around 168 processions are expected to merge into the main yatra.
To prevent any untoward incidents, deployment will include additional armed forces and task force teams at sensitive locations, he said.
Sajjanar advised organisers to ensure proper training of volunteers and adequate rope party arrangements for crowd management.
He also urged them to strictly adhere to designated routes and immediately alert police if any suspicious persons are noticed.
Special precautions have been advised regarding the height of idols, particularly at flyovers and railway bridges.
Traffic diversions will be implemented in advance, and the public has been requested to follow police advisories. The Commissioner also cautioned against spreading or believing rumours on social media, warning that strict action will be taken against those posting provocative content.
Following the meeting, the Commissioner inspected the 12-km yatra route from Gowliguda Ram Mandir to Tadbund Hanuman Temple.
Senior officials, representatives from civic departments, and members of various organisations, including VHP and Bajrang Dal, attended the meeting.
