Taiwan Non-Woven Fabrics Delegation Explores Investment Opportunities in Andhra Pradesh

Sri City (Tirupati Dist.), Mar 31 (TNT): In a push to attract global manufacturing investments, a five-member Taiwanese business delegation led by Shelly Chien visited Sri City on Tuesday to assess investment prospects in the non-woven fabrics sector.

The delegation represented the Taiwan Non-woven Fabrics Industry Association (TNFIA), a major industry body with over 130 member firms, signalling growing interest from Taiwanese manufacturers in expanding their footprint in India.

During the visit, Sri City officials pitched the integrated business hub as a competitive manufacturing destination, highlighting its strategic location, plug-and-play infrastructure, diversified industrial base, and strong policy backing from both state and central governments.

Bodgan George, Assistant Vice President (Business Development), outlined the ecosystem advantages and emphasised the rising presence of Taiwanese firms in the industrial park.

He cited Rechi Precision Co., Ltd., a joint venture with Daikin Industries, as a key example of successful foreign investment operating from Sri City.

Ravindra Sannareddy, Managing Director of Sri City, said the visit reflects strengthening economic engagement between Taiwan and Andhra Pradesh and is expected to translate into new investment flows and industrial partnerships.

Indicating concrete interest, Shelly Chien said the delegation is actively considering Sri City for setting up manufacturing facilities. “Sri City is a very promising destination for our industry, and we will also recommend it to other companies,” she said.

Industry observers note that the visit aligns with India’s broader strategy to position itself as an alternative manufacturing hub amid global supply chain diversification, particularly in sectors such as technical textiles and non-woven materials.

The delegation included manufacturers, supply chain players, and industry representatives from Taiwan, China, and Vietnam, reflecting cross-border value chain integration in the sector. Officials from Invest India and the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board accompanied the delegation, facilitating discussions on investment, infrastructure expansion, and potential collaborations.
