Amaravati, Mar 30 (TNT): The CSIR–National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (NIScPR) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Science City of Andhra Pradesh (SCAP) to strengthen science communication and promote collaborative research in Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) policy.
The MoU was signed by NIScPR Director Dr. Geetha Vani Rayasam, Andhra Pradesh Special Chief Secretary M.T. Krishna Babu and SCAP CEO Venkateswarlu Kesineni here.
The collaboration aims to advance evidence-based policymaking, enhance public understanding of science and foster a scientific ecosystem through joint initiatives in research, training and outreach.
The partnership will focus on strengthening science communication and scientific awareness across Andhra Pradesh, while promoting collaborative research in STI policy, an official release said here on Monday.
The MoU also envisages capacity building through training programmes, workshops and mentoring initiatives, along with facilitating knowledge sharing, joint publications and academic support for students and researchers.
As part of the collaboration, both institutions will undertake joint research projects, organise seminars, conferences and training programmes, and develop educational and training materials.
The initiative will also support mentorship for students and research scholars, promote scientific journals and knowledge resources, and carry out outreach programmes aligned with Sustainable Development Goals.
Officials said the partnership is expected to benefit students, faculty, researchers and scholars across educational levels, and strengthen the interface between science, policy and society in the State.
